About Me:
Those of you familiar with me know me as a writer of Young Adult Fantasy, namely, The Beast Call , an e-book available on Kindle, Nook, Smashwords and iBooks, but I'm not blogging today to make a plug (although, I can't help but notice that I just did!).
My post today is in honor of female warriors around the world.

I am a woman, and a mother of two little girls, and despite the fact I have not chosen the life of a warrior (at least, not the physical kind - the most I fight with is myself!), I do long and cherish the idea of writing about strong female warriors, because, let's face it, the world needs more of them.

I tried to write The Beast Call about a seventeen year old girl warrior, and what it's like to be a girl undervalued in a society fearful of her magical powers, and undervalued as a girl in general, and her quest to prove to them just what she's capable of, but it really only scrapes the surface of what I am sure it is like.

So here's to you: chicks with guts!  I salute you, and here's one to the men who fight along side you.
Here's one citizen who appreciates what you do, and appreciates those who have given their lives for me and my country.

Huzzah!

Your comment here on this post earns a soldier a free copy of my book, also if you'd like to receive a FREE e-copy of The Beast Call, leave a comment below, and be sure to give me your email address so I can forward you the Coupon Code from Smashwords.com too!

It would be my honor if you'd read my e-book and let me know what you think.

Now I'm off to write - because if you thought it was hard to write about an undervalued teenage girl being a warrior, try putting that girl in charge of the world and see how she does... :)

Hi thank you for this, it is for a great cause. I am a War Orphan from the vietnam era which took years to find out what happen to my father and to this day him and his group of men never heard from again. It took seven years to declare them legally dead. It was terible growing up i had seven brother and sisters and my mother never remarried or dated. Anything we can do to show our support today for our troops will be just wonderful compared to the way support was given to my mother back then. Thank you for all you do for every man and women that make up our troops today. Joannie

  132. Anne,

I can't say enough thank you's for all the authors that are participating in the blog tour. I'm so glad to see that you all care and appreciate our service people.

If my real father was alive he would be happy to see that some people appreciated him and he service to his country.

My dad serve the Navy for 22 years. In those 22 years he pulled three tours of Vietnam. My dad came back a different person and never spoke about what happen to him over there.

Till this day, my mom thinks he was effected by Agent Orange and he died at 59 or 60 yrs of age. Which I consider very young. I do know this he started drinking more when he came back to the states.

These wars are not easy on any of our service people. Most of them carry some type of injury whether it be physical or mental. So here is to the people who keep me safe and free.

You all I appreciate every thing you do to keep me safe.

  157. thanks for doing this. As an army veteran of multiple deployments, I can assure you that reading provides sanity and a chance to explore worlds outside the dust/rain/dirt of the present un-fun. With the advent of eBook readers it has become even easier to read, try new authors and to feel less cut off from the world.

  163. My dad was a WWII vet and landed at Omaha Beach on D-day. He didn't live quite long enough to go on one of the Honor Tours and he didn't talk about the war but he looked very dashing in the pictures. : )
